About Darren
Darren Wright has never been a politician, and he’s proud of that. He’s spent his career serving our community as a respected law enforcement officer and an unwavering conservative voice. Darren is stepping up now because Rockingham County doesn’t need another politician, it needs a Sheriff who’s ready to enforce our laws, defend our values, and get things done.
Family
Darren Wright and his wife, Karen, have deep roots in Rockingham County, where they’ve raised their family and dedicated their lives to public service. Karen serves as a teacher in the Rockingham County Schools, and together they have 3 children.
Fighter
Darren Wright spent his career on the front lines as a North Carolina State Trooper, rising through the ranks to become First Sergeant. He led with grit, earned the respect of his fellow troopers, and never backed down from the tough calls. Exactly the kind of leadership Rockingham County needs in a Sheriff.
